In celebration of national Culture Days, this presentation will take place next Saturday Sept. 28 from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at the Sechelt community meeting room (Sechelt Public Library), 5797 Cowrie St.
Many organizations are collaborating with creative professionals as they explore ways to increase innovation and develop the creative potential of their employees. This presentation will be of interest to business leaders, design professionals and anyone hoping to incorporate more creativity into their work or place of business. Aitken will explore what is meant by creativity, demystify the creative process and offer some hands-on exercises that will challenge the audience to look at things differently.
Aitken has worked as a designer for print and web in the U.K., Australia, Papua New Guinea and Canada and has been a studio partner for most of her career. She studied graphic design in London, England, holds a masters degree in publishing from Simon Fraser University and is a Human Factors Intl. certified usability analyst. She currently teaches design and typography, and through her own studio is involved in communication design and web interface projects.
