EDMONTON - A man charged in the deaths of three of his armoured car company co-workers and the wounding of a fourth is scheduled to appear in an Edmonton court today.
Travis Baumgartner is accused of first-degree and attempted murder in the shooting deaths of the guards at the University of Alberta.
The guards, who worked for G4S Canada, were shot as they were restocking a bank machine at the university on June 15.
Baumgartner, who is 21, was arrested a day after the heist as he tried to cross the Canada-U.S. border with $334,000 in a backpack.
About 500 people attended a private memorial in Edmonton on June 24 for all three victims — Michelle Shegelski, 26, Eddie Rejano, 39, and Brian Ilesic, 35.
The wounded guard, 25-year-old Matthew Schuman, was shot in the head and continues to recovers in hospital.
