CALGARY - The University of Calgary says the health information of 5,000 patients at one of its clinics may have been compromised by computer viruses.
The school says several viruses infected one of the computers at the Sunridge Medical Clinic.
The computer was used to store faxes, medical legal reports and billing data, including health care numbers and insurance information.
The school says someone now may be able to get access to the information remotely.
Letters have been sent to the patients advising them of the problem.
The school says the clinic's electronic medical records were not involved and the computer has been shut down.
