question of the week

Thank you Target Marine

I appreciated the opportunity to attend Target Marineís recent information session.† It gave me an opportunity to expand my understanding of the aquaculture operation. It introduced me to aquaponics in informed detail.

I continue to be impressed with Target Marineís operation and how they incorporate environmental respect. Their re-circulating aquaculture system (RAS) is fascinating. This water cycle mimics nature in the care and use of water, an important resource we all share an interest in.

The RAS protects the local aquifer and stream. The introduction of an aquaponics component is a step forward in this effort. Expansion in to aquaponics also provides one more local food-producing element to our society.†

I had no idea that Targetís products are certified organic.

I appreciate how much effort it takes to reach that goal.

Likewise, I acknowledge that recognition by Global Trust, Ocean Wise and Sea Choice do not come without a great deal of hard work and attention to detail. I salute Targetís accomplishments.

I look forward to further development in the aquaponics Target proposes.

I will watch for specific details on how it will develop. I believe Target Marine will show the same empathy they have previously demonstrated. I gladly welcome the economic stimulus to the area. I feel Target Marine has been an outstanding corporate neighbour. I look forward to continuing to benefit in that relationship.
