Count your blessings

Editor:

Am I missing something? Iím surrounded by screams of protest about the proposed new ferry schedule.

It will affect me. Nearly 25 years of free rides Monday to Thursday, but full fares Friday to Sunday. Now if these days are to be half fares as well, you have a deal.

I am not against measured protests when some changes, of all types, are proposed on the Coast. That is what democracy is all about. But some people really overdo it, and a minority of those people protest against changes of every kind. Your letters to the editor attest to that.

When my wife and I moved west from Ontario in 1990, the Sunshine Coast was an easy choice, and we have never regretted it. So, to the naysayers, I say: count your blessings.

Bernard McGrath, Langdale
