New light bulbs a big con game

The public is being conned once again by the big corporations and Hydro into thinking the new light bulbs are better. In reality, they are pushing us into using lights that mean more hazardous waste to dispose of and they do not last as long as claimed.

Do not dispose of the bulbs in your regular garbage.

Have you really looked at the Christmas displays of lights? People have many more strings of lights up, which in the long run probably are using up as much or more electricity, and yet the effect is less than if people had only one string of the old light bulbs. On top of that, the colours, although intense in some ways, are less in other ways plus the colours are not true to the regular colour spectrum, but only variations, which my eyes react negatively to particularly on our dark streets with no street lights.

New is not always better, and the corporations keep bringing out new to keep people buying and a majority of people are just gullible enough to be conned into thinking that is what they need.
