As 2014 begins, the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden has much to be grateful for, so many individuals, organizations and businesses to thank.
In the Jan. 3rd Coast Reporter we thanked those who donated funds to the Garden in 2013. So many more also deserve our thanks — those who help daily, weekly, monthly with their talents, generosity, innovation and hearts.
Without this very caring community, we could not have come so far.
Since we purchased land in 2009, there has been steady progress in creating facilities and garden areas such as the vegetable and seniors’ garden, rainforest grove, rhododendron garden, and observation platform.
Volunteers have organized programs for children, youth, adults and seniors. Our volunteers gave more than 10,000 hours last year alone.
This summer we will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Garden. We’d like to dedicate the year to the community who has built the Garden and has the right to feel proud of it. We thank you all.
