The month of December is often a hectic and busy time for many in preparation for the Christmas holiday season. St. Hilda’s Anglican Church is holding a quiet candle-lit space every morning between 7:15 and 8:30 a.m., Monday to Friday, from now until Dec. 24 for the community to sit in silence, pray, reflect or meditate. People from all spiritual traditions are welcome. Feel free to drop in for 15 minutes, or stay for an hour.
“There are so many cultural and family demands of the holiday season, not to mention the emotional stress among many wrestling with major changes in their lives or those of their loved ones,” said Rev. Clarence Li. “December seems to be a month when these stresses come head-on to many people. A few of us from St. Hilda’s want to offer some quiet space for people to sit, relax and find our centre again.”
St. Hilda’s Church is located at 5838 Barnacle St. in Sechelt beside Rockwood Centre. For more information, call Li at 604-993-0399.
