question of the week

Turning into a nasty war of words

This war of words in Gibsons and area about The George Hotel is heating up.

I know many people who are in favour of it, and a number who are against. Guess who I hear from? all the naysayers. Not only that, they are using my personal email to forward their viewpoint.

I strongly object to the use of my personal email for political purposes. My address was given out to people in good faith, when I belong to a group, or know someone. That does not give them the right to fill my in-box with propaganda.

Interestingly, none of those who favour this project have sent emails outlining the benefits; only those opposed are using this tactic, and they are people that I once thought were ethical. Shame on you.

To add insult to injury, some of the information mailed out is inaccurate.

Anne MacLachlan, Gibsons
