A 14-year-old girl was flown by air ambulance to hospital in Vancouver late Monday night in Gibsons after she fell off a roof.
Sunshine Coast RCMP along with the Gibsons fire department was called to the Christian Life Assembly Church on School Road just after 9 p.m.
Sgt. Mike McCarthy said RCMP were called to secure the location and allow the helicopter to land.
“A 14-year-old girl with her friends gained access to a commercial building on School Road, she lost her footing and fell off the roof,” said McCarthy. “Paramedics were called and from our understanding, the paramedics determined as a precaution, to call the air ambulance to transport the young girl to hospital in Vancouver. It's my understanding that the girl was conscious and alert.”
McCarthy said the fire department was also on hand to assist at the scene.
McCarthy said he could not comment on the extent or nature of the girls injuries as he did not know those details.
