Treatment of veterans despicable

I am gratified that MP John Weston (Letters, Nov. 22) has taken the trouble to respond to the concerns raised during the Remembrance period. However, quoting the PMO's talking points which state that there is a department of veterans affairs, that it has a budget and that most veterans get a pension misses the point of our outrage either deliberately or because of not listening closely enough.

Would Mr. Weston confirm publically that discharging wounded veterans early, thereby ensuring that they cannot get the benefits that many, if not all of us, think they deserve, is despicable and that he will bring this to the prime ministerís attention on our behalf?
