Ferry cuts don’t seem fair

So once again, government/private industry — the ferries decide that if we don't live on the mainland we should be penalized by having our ferry service cut.

The fact that ferries in the Interior are free because they are part of the highway system and at least one ferry has the same travel time as ours doesn't seem to be relevant to the government. Well, hello government people, the ferries are part of our highway system too. Why should we be the target of cuts to balance the budget while the executives of the ferry system receive bonuses for just doing their jobs? Let's see the cuts start at the top of the heap instead of hitting the people who are already struggling. The more the rates go up the less trips are taken by the people or they leave the car at home and travel by foot and bus to go into Vancouver.

Then only those who are travelling beyond Vancouver or those who can't manage the walk on and off the ferries — and probably on limited budgets are the ones forced to pay the higher rates. Doesn't seem fair to me.
