A seven-year plan for The George

I note that the yearly revenue from the George Hotel is projected to be one million dollars with taxes going to the Town of Gibsons and 10 million dollars to the larger community.

If I had control of the money the first million would be spent on sidewalks and upgrading the roads. On year two the money would be spent on the water and sewer systems. For year three the million would be used to consolidate the three arts buildings into a complex.

The next year I would spend the million dollars on landscaping the Waterfront Park with a series of stone retaining walls to provide level seating and also to provide a first-class sea walk that extends to and includes the breakwater with many seats and view points. In year five I would create a new docking facility adjacent to the new concrete dock to moor barges. Then I would spend a million on a new swimming pool and finally I would spend the million to duplicate the sewage plant.

This is what I call my seven-year George plan and all this without having to increase my tax bill.
