Motorists and trail users around West Sechelt and Kinnikinnick may have noticed an influx of kids and adults with big smiles on bikes over the last two weeks.
With the start of a new school year comes the start of mountain bike club season. This year, between West Sechelt and Kinnikinnick elementary schools, more than 50 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 are participating in the fall mountain bike club season.
“Not only are students learning about proper trail and road etiquette, kids, teachers, and adult volunteers are getting out on a weekly basis to enjoy each others’ company on the excellent trail and road network available to bike riders in the Sechelt area,” said teacher Chris Allen.
The mountain bike clubs run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
A big thank-you in advance to motorists in the Mason and Heritage road areas and to Kinnikinnick trail users for your patience and support as a new crop of bike riders descend upon our local trails and roads.
