Your photo and article on page 14 of the Sept. 6 issue puzzles me intensely.
Being no expert on the condition of dementia, I was surprised to see that a fire exit was “disguised” as a bookshelf.
Surely in an emergency situation (fire) even dementia patients, if unsupervised, would instinctively head toward a door with a large exit sign appended?
Was the local fire marshal consulted before this artwork was applied? I wonder what his response would have been?
