A 34-year-old Roberts Creek woman was airlifted to hospital in Vancouver after a single-vehicle accident in Roberts Creek Monday night.
On Aug. 26 around 11:20 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP, the Roberts Creek fire department and paramedics were dispatched to the accident scene on Roberts Creek Road, near Mossy Rock Road.
“The vehicle was travelling northbound on Roberts Creek Road toward Highway 101 and had just rounded a right turn. Tire tracks showed the vehicle went off the roadway left, and then struck a hydro pole. There was no indication that the vehicle braked prior to striking the pole,” said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release.
Chubey said the woman was trapped in the vehicle and was extracted by firefighters. She suffered facial trauma and was air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital. She was conscious and able to communicate with police and paramedics.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision, and the investigation is ongoing, Chubey said.
