question of the week

Does anybody pay attention?

First of all I want to congratulate Sechelt mayor and council for their wise decision to put in a complete sewage treatment system instead of doing it piece-meal as former councils have wanted to do it.

People must realize that doing it in stages would cost far more in the long run. By the time the second or third stages were completed the first stage would need repair or updating. Council, I believe, has done their due diligence in investigating what would be right for Sechelt, including a number of open houses. We do not I feel, need to start this all over again.

We have a progressive council that is moving forward and I think we should give them our support.

I was against the Ebbtide location at first, but after seeing the plans I think this will be educational for our school children, other communities and tourists. Anything that brings tourists to town can only help our local businesses.

I feel that council has done due diligence in planning this sewage treatment plant.† They have taken public input into account. Before anyone complains that more public input is needed they need to check what has already happened in that regard. If you are concerned what is happening in your city you need to pay attention.

We may not always like what decisions our council makes, but on this I think they have definitely made a good decision for all of us in Sechelt.†

Decisions need to be made. This was an election promise that has been kept.

You can please all of the people sometimes, but you canít please all of the people all of the time.
