First off, let me offer a sincere kudos to the mayor and council for their delivered promise of a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant, which will bring much deserved recognition and attention to the Sunshine Coast.
Congratulations for all of your hard work!
Secondly, it's interesting to read the opinion letters (Coast Reporter, Feb. 15). I was a little stunned to realize that there was not one letter regarding this major accomplishment and subsequent movement towards the collective goal of bringing money, jobs, and acclaim to Sechelt.
What does this lack of opinion mean? One could surmise the answer to that question could be that because the mayor and council actually followed through on an election promise, the community has rarely dealt with this scenario and therefore does not know how to respond. If that is in fact the case, how sad for the previous councils that such history exists. If it is not the case, then what?
The drawings look cool, the idea is sound, and the technology is proven. So for those of the community out there who are reserving their congratulations and elation at this announcement of the new sewage treatment plant, just go to the information meeting on March 19.
