Gibsons Recycling makes top five

News in brief

Gibsons Recycling Depot was named in the top five best small businesses in B.C. as part of the Successful You Awards Contest, announced by Small Business BC Jan. 30.

Gibsons Recycling is now a top five finalist competing to receive two awards: the Best Community Impact Award, which will recognize one B.C. business for their positive impact and positive actions in their local community, and the Best Green Business Award, for a company that shows an outstanding commitment to energy and sustainability through leadership and positive actions.

This year, 172 businesses were nominated and narrowed down to the top 10 in six award categories through on-line voting. Each business then submitted an extended application detailing why they deserved to be named one of B.C.ís best, allowing a judging panel to select the top five.

The winners will be announced at the Successful You Awards Ceremony, a business-networking event open to the public on Feb. 28, at the Pan Pacific Vancouver.
