Coast high school basketball teams will be looking to continue their early season success or try to get on a winning streak when they return to the hardwood next week.

Before the Christmas break, several teams played on the final week of the schedule.

The Elphinstone bantam boys improved to 4-0 overall (3-0 in North Shore league play) with a 34-30 exhibition win over Mulgrave on Dec. 17. Elphi’s next game is Jan. 13 against Handsworth.

The Elphi junior boys dropped to 0-3 in league play after a 57-26 loss to Carson Graham on Dec. 20. Their next game is on Jan. 10 against Handsworth.

The Chatelech juvenile boys dropped to 0-3 in exhibition play following a 74-15 loss to Seycove on Dec. 19. Their next game is Jan. 14 against Handsworth.

The Chat senior boys dropped to 0-3 in league play after a 62-53 loss to Rockridge on Dec. 20. Their next game is Jan. 10 against Bodwell.

The Elphi senior boys had their last two games in December against Collingwood and Archbishop Carney postponed due to the weather. The game against Collingwood will be rescheduled. Elphi’s next game is against Seycove on Jan. 8.

Both the Elphi and Chat senior girls had their last league games also postponed. They locked up in an exhibition game on Dec. 19 in Sechelt. A final score from that game was not reported.
