SPCA in need of foster homes

Sunshine Coast branch

The BC SPCA’s Sunshine Coast shelter is in need of foster homes for animals in their care, including cats, dogs, puppies, kittens and small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs or rats.

“We are appealing to members of the public to help us care for these wonderful animals by opening their homes to them,” said Cindy Krapiec, manager of the Sunshine Coast branch.

Krapiec added that fostering an animal is a great way to make a meaningful contribution to pets in need. It is beneficial for the animal to be in a home and receive appropriate attention and care.

Temporary pet guardians benefit by experiencing the joy of caring for a pet before adopting one of their own. It can also be an opportunity for those who travel a lot and can not make a full-time commitment to a pet.

Anyone interested in the SPCA foster program or volunteer opportunities at the shelter, such as “cat cuddler” or “canine companion” should call the shelter at 604-740-0301.
