The speed limit is not the main problem in trying to access Highway 101 — it’s the sheer volume of traffic. Have another peek at the photo with the article, and count the number of cars. I have counted more than 200 vehicles in the opposite lane coming at me between the entrance to the golf course and Pratt Road, a distance of 9.4 km. And, this was not ferry traffic. Also, there are 86 access points (private and business driveways and roads) in that stretch of highway.
It’s time that planning started for a limited access highway from Langdale to Sechelt. If it could be done between Squamish and Whistler, with less population, it can be done here!
