Thirty respondents filled out a survey or provided comments regarding the scooter survey, initiated by the accessibility advisory committee through the District of Sechelt.

The survey collected information about the use of mobility devices such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters and other mobility aids. Recommendations for improvement from mobility device users generally focus on infrastructure improvements: wider sidewalks, better-designed and clearly marked letdowns, better-marked crosswalks, more stop signs and perhaps more traffic lights at busy intersections.

A summary is now available as well as a breakdown by question at the District of Sechelt website at http://www.district.sechelt.bc.ca/.

Trail clearing work

District of Sechelt staff, in cooperation with Capilano University's mountain bike operations program is doing debris clearing in the area of the "Brown Sugar" bike trail in Kinnikinnick Park.

According to a notice posted on the DOS website, this work is being done to allow for the stage four expansion of this trail and no removal of live trees is anticipated.
