Station 12, Halfmoon Bay, Royal Canadian Marine - Search and Rescue, is pleased to announce the election of Coxswain Mark Coombs as station leader. Coombs follows John Wiseman, who has stepped down after two years of service as station leader and has been appointed to the RCM-SAR board of governors for the western region. Both these men have put a great amount of time and energy into making our local waters safe for the boating public. We appreciate their time and commitment to saving lives and vessels on the water.

The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, Station 12 is based in Halfmoon Bay, B.C. Using the fast response vessel (FRV), the Ken Moore, Unit 12 provides maritime search and rescue services for the area starting at White Islets, north to McNaughton Point and halfway across the Strait of Georgia. A second Station 12 FRV, the Lewis-McPhee, is stationed in Sechelt Inlet and covers the area from Sechelt to Egmont, including Salmon Inlet and Narrows Inlet. The members of Station 12 are dedicated, highly-trained volunteers who provide maritime life saving services in any weather condition, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
