Motivational mandala painting

The Oracle

Spiritual artist Natalia Vanessa will be visiting the Sunshine Coast next week offering two workshops at The Oracle at Sechelt.

The first, on Sept. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., is a motivational mandala painting class featuring meditation and creative expression. The second, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., is an introductory lesson to crystals, exploring their uses and healing properties.

The mandala (meaning circle in Sanskrit) is a sacred process and meditation aid to focus attention. As autumn unfolds and with the fresh influence of the new moon overhead, now is a prime time to focus on personal goals and bring them into a colourful creation — a personal mandala.

Participants will be encouraged to unleash the wisdom of their unconscious in a guided meditation and bring this vision forth into form. Infused with personal motivation, the art piece that students take away with them is designed to be a daily inspiration. This is a simple, step-by-step process, and no previous artistic experience is required. All materials are provided.

Including her native B.C., Vanessa has exhibited in Toronto, New York, Paris and England, and is represented by Gimpel Fine Art in Los Angeles. She is a self-taught artist raised in the wilds of northern B.C. Her desire is to add beauty to the world, to uplift humanity with colourful images of expansiveness and inspiration, and to assist in the necessary rebalancing of civilization with the earth.

The Oracle at Sechelt is at 1-5549 Wharf Avenue. Call 604-885-2200 or see www.theoracle.ca for more information.
