Mercy and Caring Children’s Homes Kenyan director Gerishom Munialo and his wife Monicah are joined in a prayer with Calvary Baptist Church pastor Jack Leighton and elders Dane Ruck, Tom Williams and Don Klan during a recent visit by the couple to the Sunshine Coast.

Nancy and Edwin Cahill, the Canadian director’s of Mercy and Caring Children’s Homes, had some wonderful news that the Kenyan director of the Canadian charity based in Kitale is coming to Canada later this month for six weeks.

Gerishom Munialo and his wife Monicah arrived on Sept. 5 to meet all the different supporters and sponsors of the 120 children who stay at Mercy Home in Kenya. Gerishom has been the director of Mercy Home for eight years, doing many jobs such as administration, finances, counselling children and staffing issues.

Monicah has been the chaplain for five years, helping counsel the children of Mercy Home.

There will be quite a few chances for friends to meet this amazing couple who have worked very hard to keep things running smoothly in Kenya.

On Sept. 22, a potluck dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly, 730 School Road; on Oct. 3 there are two events in the afternoon, at Bethel Baptist Church, a mission meeting at 1:30 p.m. and at Pender Harbour Community Church a dessert night. The community is welcomed to any of these meetings.
