In our hearts forever

Elphi Fall Fun Fest

Tis the season for the seventh annual Fall Fun Fest at Elphinstone Secondary

School.

Continuing to honour Trina Borley and Hanna Anderson, staff, students and the community at-large are coming together in spirit of family fun, sports, and entertainment on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

“These two girls were outstanding students both in our school and in this community,” said Elphi teacher Sarah Mani. “After they were both on the softball team that won the provincial championships, they tragically were in a fatal car accident just North of Sechelt. The gathering was first formed by their graduating class and the legacy has continued without missing a beat.”

Wednesday’s event starts at Brothers Park with the annual 2013 Grads versus teachers’ softball game at 3:30 p.m. Then the festivities move over to the Elphi school back field at 5 p.m. for more fun for the whole family.

The 2012 Grad class is hosting the event that will feature a kissing booth, sumo wrestling, Bouncy Castle, pie a teacher, dunk tank, barbecue, mini golf, hoop shoot, fortune telling, music and live entertainment and so much more.

“Don't forget the ever beloved raffle for all kinds of awesomeness from our amazing community,” said Mani. “Most all of the booths are by donation, fixed cost for food/drinks, but really reasonable thanks to donations by Gibsons Marketplace IGA. The proceeds are going towards Kidsport and Elphi athletics. It is an exciting way to start the year — pulling together people of all ages to come play and enjoy together. Thanks in advance to all of the businesses who continue to jump in both feet to help out this bang up festival. We can't wait for it and look forward to seeing so many of you there.”
