Sunshine Coast RCMP are alerting the public to a report of a suspicious male lurking around Cedar Grove Elementary School.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5, RCMP received a report that an unknown male was seen lurking in the walking trails to the rear of Cedar Grove Elementary School, during supervised hours and attempting to talk to a youth.

“The male was described as 40 to 50 years of age, with shaggy hair and a beard, wearing ripped jeans and a black and white skull and cross bone T-shirt,” said Sgt. Russ Howard. “Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating, but would like to remind parents and teachers to talk with children and students about the importance of staying on school grounds and not talking to strangers.

“If a suspicious person is seen on school grounds or attempting to talk to children, immediately report the incident directly to the teacher/principal on duty, and RCMP.”
