Not much news this week as Halfmoon Bay has settled into its summer slumber.
I have some great news for fall. Spin Class will be returning Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:15 a.m. at the school thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Short making their classroom available for this community partnership with the Sunshine Coast Regional District parks and recreation department.
We are also thrilled to have Marilyn Downey back to add a beginner class on Mondays and Wednesdays, same place, same time.
Registration will be by phone or in person through the SCRD in early
September. Details will be provided in upcoming columns.
Next week is the annual general meeting for our local Citizens Association.
On Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. we will gather at Coopers Green to hear a review of the year from this committed group who work towards keeping Halfmoon Bay the quality environment it is for all of us. Guest speakers will be Tom Thelner from the Welcome Beach Association to talk about their hopes for improvements to Coopers Green Hall, and Mike Clements from the SC Museum and Archive Society to fill us in on his new smart phone application about the heritage of the Sunshine Coast.
Have a great week and keep sending your news to Sue at 604-885-2177 or email
