Team Maycon from Gibsons won the tier two bantam championship with a 12-5 win over the New West Twins in Queens Park in New Westminster June 28.

After dropping a game to the Twins the night before, setting up the rubber match, Maycon came out fired up and ready to play.

Bailey Karaloff started the onslaught with a grand slam in the first to put Maycon ahead 4-0.

In the second inning, Quinn Watson, Braydon Fletcher and Mason Doyle all got on base, setting the stage for James Bradwell who jacked a second grand slam for an 8-0 lead.

Conner Dempster and Bailey Karaloff added two more runs in the third and Luke Petreny pitched for strikeouts and small hits to keep the runs limited by New West to three runs in four innings.

The fifth inning saw Bailey, Max McDicken and Wesley Konapasek get on the sticks to bring in two more runs for a 12-5 lead.

Going into the opening inning in the sixth, Bailey pitched to hold New West and Blake Gillies made a great double play to get two quick outs.  The final out was a super play by back-catcher Conner who dug out a low ball at the plate on the third strike and threw to first base to end the game.
