Sechelt hires new assistant

The District of Sechelt has hired a new executive assistant, Jeanette McDougall who will support mayor and council as well as the yet-to-be hired chief of innovation and growth.

The District of Sechelt has hired a new executive assistant, Jeanette McDougall, who will support mayor and council as well as the yet-to-be hired chief of innovation and growth.

McDougall brings 16 years of experience to the position, having worked as an executive assistant in both the private and public sectors in the past.

“Her background includes employment in the mining, oil and gas biotech, forestry and banking industries,” a press release from the District stated. “She is in the process of relocating to the Coast from B.C.’s Lower Mainland.”

McDougall will be responsible for coordinating schedules, handling correspondence, doing research and “handling various confidential matters relating to council activities.”

Council correspondence, meeting requests and invitations should now be directed to McDougall. Her email address is jmcdougall@sechelt.ca.

Sechelt’s co-ordinator of council and community relations Connie Jordison will continue to handle public relations and council agendas as well as being the primary recording secretary for council.
