Great children’s activities are never ending this summer.
The beautiful Iris Griffith Centre is offering Lagoonies Club, a weekly day-camp for kids ages five to 13 every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lagoonies introduces children to the wonderful creatures of the wetlands, builds artistic and scientific skills and most importantly will help them act as stewards of the environment. Bring your lunch, dress for the weather and drop in. Suggested donation is $5 to $10 or free with a family membership to the Lagoon Society. Iris Griffith Centre is just one km south of Ruby Lake at 15386 Sunshine Coast Highway. Call 604-883-9201 or visit www.lagoonies@lagonsociety.com for more details.
On Sunday, July 22, the Ruby Lake Lagoon Society will hosts its annual general meeting and 10-year celebration starting at 3 p.m. with a special presentation of the society’s 10-year history, followed by a potluck barbecue at 4:30 p.m. Festivities including live music by Matthew Lovegrove, a performance by the centre’s summer staff, and fun activities for kids of all ages, are all part of this hallmark event. Bring your family and your friends and something to share for the barbecue potluck. For more information go to email www.lagoonsociety.com, info@lagoonsociety.com or call 604-883-9201.
