Time to catch a trout

Chapman Creek Hatchery

Catch a Trout Day is back at the Chapman Creek Hatchery in Wilson Creek on Saturday, July 7.

The popular family event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many have enjoyed the joys of watching their little ones catch a trout or two, get their face painted, eat a hot dog and even sing a favourite tune in the Karaoke tent.

More than 2,000 rainbow trout, raised at the hatchery, are awaiting your arrival. This year there will be a few new additions to delight and surprise everyone, but the ticket books remain the same as they have been for the last 17 years: $10/child. The books include tickets to catch two trout, get a face painting, have a hot dog, a drink, and a bag of chips, a balloon, and a McDonald’s coupon. There will also be a collection bin for those wishing to contribute items to the Food Bank.
