New events to liven up event

Sea Cavalcade

The 44th annual Sea Cavalcade weekend is fast approaching July 28 and 29.

Lots of fun is in store for the whole family and the Sea Cav committee has a few new events slated for the Family Fun Day in Brothers Park July 28 that they wish the community to know about.

Build a winning Lego design: Bring your own LEGO kits from noon to 3 p.m. and build a winning design. Pre-register by July 24 on the website (www. seacavalcade.ca), at Talbot Insurance or the Town of Gibsons. Categories range from five to 17 years old and adult. For more information call Dianne Garret at 604-886-9510 or email seacavalcade@gmail.com.

Multicultural kids games: We now have new cultures on the Coast to learn from and enjoy new ethnic games for families. The Sea Cavalcade committee wants to invite our ethnic groups to share how their kids play in their country. Let’s bring the kids around the world games to Brothers Park from noon to 3 p.m. If you would like to participate please call Dianne.

Remote/radio control car and truck races: Get your cars/trucks ready for this exciting event. The race track will be the Brothers Park skate board bowl from noon to 3 p.m. Categories from six years old to adult. Pre-register by July 24 on the website, at Talbot Insurance or the Town of Gibsons. For more information contact John Huigsloot at 604-886-9510 or email seacavalcade@gmail.com.

So now, in our 44th year, we still have the old favorites of our parade, family day, street dance, fireworks, and party in the park, wooden boat display, great food and our flying Fraser Blues aerial team! These and many other activities will give our modern coastal communities another memorable festival of “Enchanting Memories by the Sea.
