An incredulous policy decision

The following letter was sent to MP John Weston and copied to Coast Reporter.

It is imperative that you take a stand on the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station closure. Lives will surely be lost if the illustrious Minister Keith Ashfield does not gracefully retreat from this incredulous policy decision.

Here is a suggestion: instead of wasting taxpayer dollars on useless government information flyers which 99 per cent of constituents leave on the post office tables for recycling — unread — you could influence your fellow ministers and, of course, yourself to use such monies for saving lives.

You only have to take notice of the recent tragic accident in order to realize the dangers of B.C. waters and how quickly disaster can strike.
