Yes indeed it is the weekend to get your groove on and enjoy the blues to the max as the Pender Harbour Blues Festival gets underway today. Three days of blues bliss are jam packed with outstanding musicians performing in venues all over our beautiful harbour.
The biggest events of the year just keep happening as the Pender Harbour Legion gets ready for their giant garage sale. Bring your donations from June 1 on to the Legion during operating hours. The event takes place next Saturday, June 9.
Monday, June 1 the Pender Harbour Hiking Group will have the pleasure to enjoy the Skookumchuck Narrows before the busy season. On Wednesday, June 6 the vistas from the Malaspina Substation to Sunrise will be taken in on the second easy outing of the week.

The Pender Harbour Community School has an update. The time for the Wednesday, June 6 Sewing Drop In session will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. Bring your projects and ideas. An instructor will be on hand to assist and advise. Drop in fee is just $10.
Now is the time to register for two courses offered by Pender Harbour Community School.
Canadian firearms safety course non-restricted is Friday, June 8 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the conservation and outdoor recreation education program (CORE).

The Harbourside Friendship Group meeting on Thursday, June 7 will celebrate B.C. Seniors Week with a meet and greet with Nicholas Simons. Bring your questions to ask our NDP MLA. Egmont events
Celebrate Egmont Day on Saturday, June 16 — a day full of fun for the whole family. Take in the parade, fishing derby and dinner too. Play games, win prizes and explore all the activities at the Egmont Community Hall. Fishing derby begins at 9 and the parade at 11 a.m.
Everyone is invited to the second annual seafood dinner fundraiser June 30. Come and enjoy the finest local seafood the Coast has to offer. Salmon, oysters, prawns with all the trimmings and delicious side dishes are just some of the gourmet offerings. The cost of this amazing feast is just $10. Time to dine is 6 p.m. at the Egmont Community Hall. Bon Appetite!
