Catch Mindil Beach Markets and Wilderness Crew as they team up for a pair of unforgettable shows at the Roberts Creek Hall.

It’s been two years since the two bands shared a stage, and what better way to do it than back on the Sunshine Coast for their hometown crowd?

The first show, on June 1, will be an all-ages event. Local rockers, North Coast, will open the night. The second show, on June 2, is 19-plus and will be licensed.

Tickets are available for $20 at Lucy’s in Sechelt and Chemistry in Gibsons. Provided both shows don’t sell out, tickets will be available for $25 at the door.

They’ll also be visiting Elphinstone Secondary School (May 30) and Chatelech Secondary School (May 31) to share their ocean health awareness initiative, The Jellyfish Project. Developed in partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium, The Jellyfish Project is offered free of charge to all B.C. high schools and involves a performance by the band followed by a discussion on the declining health of the world’s oceans. Themes include overfishing, marine plastics, ocean acidification and sustainable solutions.

Mindil Beach have teamed up with up and coming producer Sean McLean Carrie to record their sophomore record and are planning to release the first single in August, followed by the album release in October. The release will co-ordinate with their participation in the Peak Performance Project, a professional development program put on by Vancouver radio station 100.5 The Peak to help new and emerging artists create careers in the music industry.

As both bands begin to garner national and international attention, this may be one of the last chances to see them together in such an intimate setting. In the past, they’ve been known to join forces on stage, taking the show to a whole new level. Free music downloads and contact info at www.mindilbeachmarkets.com.
