Logan Nattall hits a home run in the first inning against Chilliwack July 9 pacing the Dodgers to a 17-1 win and a 2-0 start to their summer all-star season.

The Gibsons peewee Dodgers opened the summer all-star season at home against Richmond July 6, picking up a 5-2 win.

Pitchers Logan Nattall, James Bradwell and Ryan Babor combined to pitch a two-hitter, giving the offence a chance to overcome a stubborn Richmond defence.

A perfect sacrifice bunt by Josh Mowbray started the scoring, and then a timely double by Jarred Bothwell in addition to hits by Liam Rankin and James Bradwell sparked the offence.

On Saturday, the Dodgers travelled to Chilliwack for game two on the schedule. Pitchers Luke Petreny, Matt Olsen and Terrance Josephson held the Chilliwack hitters to four hits. Terrific stretches at first base by Callum Fallis and Tim Walters ensured that Chilliwack didn’t get a chance to build any offensive momentum, while the Gibsons offence really took off. Led by a first inning home run over the centre field fence by Logan and aggressive base running by Jordan Kammerle, who scored three times, the Dodgers powered their way to a 17-1 win.

The Dodgers have two more home games at Brothers Park on July 20 and 27 at 6 p.m. Come out and support the boys as they try to qualify for the provincial championship. A fundraising concession with hot dogs, cold drinks and treats will be operated at each home game.
