A 17.5-kilometre stretch of Highway 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet will be improved in the coming months thanks to a $1.98 million federal-provincial grant announced this week.
The grant, part of $35.4 million dedicated to 15 infrastructure projects across B.C., is part of the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, a $4 billion initiative that is part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan in support of shovel-ready infrastructure projects. The B.C. grants were announced in a joint statement on Monday (March 1).
The money, which includes $990,000 each from the two governments, will include asphalt resurfacing on the Duffey Lake Road from the Regional Boundary to Long Cayoosh Bridge, Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP Chuck Strahl said in a statement.
“With our provincial partner, we are creating jobs and building a more prosperous future,” Strahl said.
