Denied access to favourite TV

Editor:

I’m wondering if there is anyone else in Sechelt who’s as angry as I am at being denied access to one of my favourite television programs by this insane practice constantly being allowed here, where the American networks are substituted (or overlapped) by the Canadian networks.

At 9 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, I tuned in to see my favourite show on ABC (Channel 4). It started fine, but about a minute in, off it went, substituted or overlapped by the Canadian network Citytv channel (13) broadcasting a movie.

Citytv does not normally air this program on Sunday nights; however, CTV does, but they are really busy at the moment covering the Olympics, so I should have received the ABC channel. I paid for it, but was denied access to it, and in the process, denied access to my show.

This has been a pet peeve of mine for many years and it has been occurring just a little bit too much lately. I’d really like to be given back the freedom to decide what we watch on our TVs.
