The annual Scotiabank and BC SPCA Paws for a Cause fundraiser was a huge success on Sunday afternoon. Held throughout the province, the Sunshine Coast event, held at Cliff Gilker Park, raised $11,550. Added to the pre-event fundraising, close to $17,000 has been raised. The event was bigger and better this year with 12 information booths, an on-trail hunt by Eagle Ridge Veterinary Hospital & the Landing Veterinary Clinic, a Nosework Demonstration by Joyce Tattersall at Now Pawblems K9 Camp Companion Animal Care, prizes provided by Quality Garden & Pet, a barbecue by Scotiabank, popcorn provided by Super Valu, and a fiddling performance by the Coast String Fiddlers 3G. More than 150 people attended along with well over 50 dogs.
