About 130 protesters lined Highway 101 near the traffic lights on Wharf Ave. in Sechelt Jan. 28, as federal parliament resumed, to protest the “Harper agenda.” The local event was organized by Jef Keighley through Common Causes, a new national group that believes coordinated action needs to be mobilized “against the Harper conservative agenda.” The local protest ran from 4 to 5:15 p.m. and coincided with 25 other protests organized throughout Canada that day.
