Last Sunday morning, Jan. 6, the 17th annual Tim Hortons/Wendy's Christmas Festival of Lights officially came to a close. This year’s host charity was the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives Society, who were on hand to thank advertisers, donors and the public. They announced the best decorated tree award, given to Rain’er Shine Barbershop (theme Snoopy’s Dog House) with close runners-up to Calvary Baptist Church (traditional Christmas theme) and Dominique’s School of Dance (lollipops and candy cane theme). More than $11,000 was raised during the event. The museum volunteers handed the reins over to the Gibsons Rotary Club who have been chosen to be next year’s hosts.
