High waves in Davis Bay

The high winds combined with very high tides brought an increased storm surge in Davis Bay last Saturday morning. Similar conditions contributed to major damage along the Trail Bay Foreshore in Sechelt earlier this year, and major flooding in the Davis Bay area in 2006. The District of Sechelt has since installed barriers along the Davis Bay Seawalk to minimize the impact of storm surges.
