Cathie Roy Photos - Sept. 13, 2012
Few fundraisers are more touching or well supported in our community than the annual Ladies Red Serge Gala for the Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast. This year’s dinner, Thursday, Sept. 13 was no exception. Organizer Catherine Gadsby and her crew of hard working women and men helped raise $32,500 from the sell-out crowd. This year’s riders Const. Kyle Hrynyk and Const. Harrison Mohr were on hand to thank the ladies for their support as well as show their little “buddy” Oscar Dorval, four, around the Sechelt Seniors Hall. Oscar is battling cancer for the second time, a charming little boy with great dimples he was excited to tell his mom, Ang everything. Masters of ceremonies Cpl. Colby Attlesey and Lynne Dickson did a stellar job and retired S/Sgt. Ed Hill performed his usual auctioneer magic. The Sunshine Coast detachment of the RCMP, Sechelt Fire Department and the women officers from Skookumchuk 858 Squadron also contributed many hours to make the evening a success.
